Terms of Service
Last updated: April 29, 2026
1. Agreement
By creating an account or using Fixie ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. What Fixie Does
Fixie is a DIY building assistant. You pick a project, customize the dimensions and materials, and the app generates an instant cut list, materials list, 3D preview, and step-by-step instructions. We also provide affiliate links so you can order required materials in one tap.
3. Your Account
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information when you sign up. You can delete your account at any time from the in-app profile screen.
4. Acceptable Use
• Don't use the Service to violate any law or regulation
• Don't impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
• Don't attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or probe the Service for vulnerabilities
• Don't scrape, copy, or redistribute project content for commercial purposes without our written permission
5. Your Content
You keep ownership of any photos, notes, or project customizations you create. By submitting them through the Service, you grant Fixie a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, and display them as needed to provide the Service to you.
6. Affiliate Disclosure
Fixie participates in the Amazon Associates affiliate program. The "buy materials" links in the app may direct you to Amazon. If you complete a purchase after clicking a Fixie affiliate link, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. The recommendations themselves aren't influenced by commission rates — we surface what fits your project.
7. AI-Generated Content
Fixie uses AI to generate cut lists, materials lists, build instructions, and assistant replies. We work hard to make these accurate, but AI can be wrong. Always double-check measurements before cutting wood, verify part lists before purchasing, and use your own judgment for any step that involves a power tool, ladder, or anything that can hurt you.
8. DIY Safety
Building projects involves real risk — power tools, sharp blades, heavy materials, ladders, and chemical finishes can all cause injury. Fixie is an educational guide, not a substitute for professional skill or supervision. Wear appropriate PPE, follow tool manufacturer instructions, and consult a qualified professional for anything beyond your experience level. You build at your own risk.
9. Intellectual Property
The Fixie name, logo, project plans, illustrations, and software are the property of Fixie. You may use them only as needed to use the Service for your own personal projects.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Project plans, cut lists, and instructions are guidance, not guarantees.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fixie and its directors, employees, and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, or goodwill — arising from your use of the Service. This includes injury or property damage from following instructions in the app.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that creates risk for us or other users. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms over time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes go into effect means you accept the revised Terms.
